Join SDR Academy at National Sports School for the 2024/2025 academic year
We are excited to announce that we will be hosting the second year of our High Performance Academy out of National Sport School (NSS) beginning September 2024. This new program will allow athletes to go to school (grade 8 through grade 12) at NSS while also being able to access ice and dryland training lead by SDR coaches before or during school hours.
Benefits of this program
Our own expert coaches will be over-seeing the program providing each SDR/NSS athlete with a high-level look that will bring both their minor hockey program and additional training together. All of our sessions will be a built holistically and each athlete will receive a yearly calendar and program overview that tracks their progress throughout the year.
Another big focus will be on student athlete profile and active promotion to university and college scouts across Canada and the U.S.
About the SDR High Performance School Academy at NSS
SDR athletes who are accepted into this program will go to school at NSS and will train with our team of coaches either before school starts or during school hours. Our training will not interfere with our athlete’s own team schedules and will include additional on- and off-ice training with our team of experts. We will focus on both individual skills and teaching the game – and we will also include some game play throughout the year.
- September to March: 2 ice times + 1 off ice per week, or 2 off ice + 1 dryland per week (before or during school hours) start time not before 7:30 am.
- April to June: 3 on-ice and 2 off ice per week, or 2 on-ice and 3 off-ice per week during or after school
- Off-ice sessions will include workouts, mobility, recovery sessions and classroom
